Inspiration is the process of being mentally stimulated to feel or do something creative and many of us look for these stimulations from the people we admire the most. There are a handful of women that I always look up to whenever I need fashion and general life inspiration. Victoria Beckham is one such person. From her unmatched style to her unwavering ambitions, Victoria Beckham is the ultimate style goals. Like many of us, she wasn’t always apt to finding the aesthetic that worked best for her. Her personal style had to develop over time and she made many style mistakes during the process but that only paved the way for the staple that she’s become in the fashion industry in the past 15 years or so. Not only did she develop a successful fashion brand after being written off by fashion elites, but her wardrobe is also a thing of envy for many women across the world.
Even before she was fully submerged in a world of fashion, Victoria Beckham wasn’t afraid to try new things
Like rocking this metallic silver puffer jacket
Or wearing a bra underneath a purple power suit
And even though she didn’t always get it right like with this head-to-toe matching leather
She was never afraid to experiment with her fashion and learn by wearing different pieces – such as this gorgeous printed dress
And even in her early days, Victoria Beckham set trends that everyone tried to replicate – such as this early 2000’s look of denim mini shorts, a simple vest, oversized shades and a hobo bag.
Around 2007 Victoria Beckham starts her foray into the fashion world. In 2008 she started her own label and her style undergoes a major transformation.
Here are some of the style lessons that we can all learn from VB:
Lesson #1: Stray out of the expected by trying loud colors
Lesson #2: Treat your bag like a statement piece that it deserves to be
Lesson #3: Flared pants will never go out of style
Lesson #4: Live in your shades (reference almost every picture in this post so far :))
Lesson #5: Don’t be afraid to match with your boo
Lesson #6: Learn how to spice up your look by adding pencil skirts
