Our first stay in San Juan was at a lovely B&B “Casa Sevilla“, a restored seven-room Hispanic house built in early 1920s. While an entire house can be booked for a large group, they also offer separate bookings for one of 2 studio apartments which is where we stayed. Located in the heart of the trendy “Condado” neighborhood, it was close to all of the action – 5 minute walk from Condado Beach to relax in the sun, 2 blocks away from Ashford Avenue with it’s many restaurants and bars and a 10-minute Uber drive to historic Old San Juan neighborhood.

Our “Coqui” studio, named after a small frog – an unofficial symbol of Puerto Rico, had a King bed with a TV, air conditioner, and a mini-fridge. The best part of the suite was an outside shaded private patio that was perfectly set up to relax after a long day of exploring. Highly recommend it to solo or couple travelers who want to be in the middle of the action yet relaxing space at night. The only drawback for me was not having a full-size stove to cook but if you don’t mind sampling from numerous nearby restaurants, it shouldn’t be a dealbreaker.
