If I could wear all black every single day, I would! It’s basically every New Yorkers trusted uniform.  But, of course, with spring here, we’re always happy to shed the layers. This sheer long sleeve blouse from Saku New York works so well as a transitional piece from winter to spring. It’s breathable, sophisticated and covers my girls without incident **wink wink**. I also just love the frill detail that flows right down the sleeves, chest and around the neck.

I’ve also made it no secret that I love a good pencil skirt. I found this one at & other stories and it was the first thing I thought to pair the blouse with. The detail that caught my eye was how the top front of the skirt was cut a bit higher than the back. It’s a small detail but it gives the skirt the most subtle edge. I finished the look with simple dolce vita black pumps that have a white stripe detail on the sides and a gold zipper going down the back. The colors also worked very well together. The sheer black top paired with the navy skirt flows seamlessly and gives the look depth and structure.

In case you were wondering where this photo shoot took place, Maxim, our little guy Pluto and I ventured out to Industry City located right on the waterfront of Sunset Park, Brooklyn a few weekends ago to explore. I’d never been there before and didn’t really know what to expect but I’m so happy we went. It’s basically an innovation hub for artists and small businesses. There are cool spots to grab food, shop and just walk around and explore. There’s even a sake brewery 🙂
